About The Position

Aspira Hygate Waterloo Retirement Living is seeking a Dishwasher to join their team in Waterloo, ON. This is a Permanent Part-Time position with 50 hours bi-weekly. The role involves maintaining residents' health and well-being by ensuring dishes, kitchen equipment, and work areas are clean, safe, and sanitary at all times. The Dishwasher will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, focusing on helping residents live fully every day.

Requirements

• Grade 10 minimum education required.
• Must have Smart Serve designation
• One year experience in dining room service.
• Proven customer service skills
• Excellent command of verbal and written English language
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check

Nice To Haves

• Safe Food Handling Certification is preferred

Responsibilities

• Cleaning dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery following established sanitation procedures
• Ensuring correct usage of chemicals in dish machine and pot-washing areas, i.e. uses 3-sink method for pot washing
• Cleaning kitchen, including mopping entire floor
• Assuming cleaning tasks as per site cleaning schedules
• Receiving, uncrating, and putting away supplier deliveries as required
• Alerting team leader to problems and makes recommendations about corrective action
• Performing other duties as assigned
