About The Position

The Dishwasher is responsible for washing dishes, glassware, pots, pans, flatware, and kitchen items using dish machines or by hand. They will place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas, and maintain a clean work area including equipment, floors, walls, and the cooking area. This role ensures that sanitizer levels meet health standards and keeps kitchen wares storage areas clean and orderly. Additionally, the Dishwasher removes trash from the dish room, transports it to the dumpster, and cleans and sanitizes garbage cans. If applicable, they will also follow Executive Chef/Sous Chef assignments for opening and closing procedures and keep their work area and equipment neat and clean.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow direction
  • Ability to complete required pre-employment food service training, if applicable
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to adhere to Company's Universal Service Standards
  • Ability to stand and walk for entire length of shift
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 40 pounds and place items on high and low shelves in storeroom
  • Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bend and squat
  • Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops and brooms
  • Will be in contact with chemical cleaning agents
  • Hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts from broken glass, metal cans, scalds and burns, slipping and tripping
  • Frequently immerses hands in water; works frequently in a hot and damp environment
  • Regularly required to move around the facility to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear.
  • Minimal stooping and lifting, substantial standing; walking and manual dexterity to operate office equipment such as a computer is required.

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Follows Executive Chef/Sous Chef assignments for opening and closing procedures
  • Keeps work area and equipment neat and clean
