About The Position

Bishop Gadsden, located on James Island, is a not-for-profit, faith-based retirement community affiliated with the Episcopal Church, known as the Southeast's leading life care retirement community. The purpose of the Utility/Dishwasher position is to complete tasks related to the cleaning of equipment and dishes used during food services. Utility team members are responsible for keeping floors, counters, walls, the dish room, and service area immaculately clean and in order.

Requirements

Ability to work in a high volume environment with little or no supervision
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to stand, lift, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors and team members

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

Clean and put away all dishes and pans in an efficient and safe manner
Remove trash to dumpster, replace trash can liners as necessary and break down boxes
Check and record temperatures as needed to successfully complete required duties
Assist with proper and sanitary food storage at close of meal service
Work independently with proper direction
Perform simple food preparation tasks
