About The Position

This role involves washing dishes and supporting kitchen staff by performing various duties. The position requires adherence to the Glenmeadow Pledge, which includes greeting customers, being courteous and kind, going out of your way to improve the lives of residents, respecting resident rights and confidentiality, working well with colleagues, finding and sharing solutions professionally, and taking pride in one's work. Key responsibilities include washing dishes using an automatic dishwasher, scrubbing pots and pans by hand, cleaning the work area, tables, cabinets, ovens, and other appliances, sweeping and mopping floors, and emptying trash and cleaning trash barrels. The role also involves breaking down boxes, lifting floor mats, completing daily and weekly cleaning schedules, maintaining communication between shifts, following posted schedules and board notes, complying with safety procedures and state sanitation standards, and being concerned with safety to reduce the chance of self-injury. Consistent and reliable performance is expected, along with following through on special assignments and completing assigned workloads. Punctuality, following call-out procedures, appropriate use of accrued time, attending in-services and team meetings, and flexibility in filling in for others or picking up extra work are also important.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents or other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Frequently required to twist; lift, raise arms over shoulders, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Follows safety regulations, infection control, and universal precaution procedures at all times.
