About The Position

The Washington House Hotel and Restaurant is seeking a part-time Dishwasher to join their dedicated team. This role is crucial for maintaining kitchen efficiency and cleanliness, ensuring a smooth operation for the restaurant's rotating seasonal menu, regular events, and daily service. The dishwasher will be responsible for washing dishes, cookware, and utensils, assisting with kitchen organization, and supporting the culinary team. The ideal candidate is hardworking, dependable, and open to learning new skills in a positive, team-oriented hospitality environment.

Requirements

Some experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment preferred but not required
Availability to work varied hours/days, with flexibility to come in early or stay late occasionally
Reliable transportation to and from work
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and carry heavy plates, racks, boxes, and supplies

Responsibilities

Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing areas, kitchen floors, and workstations
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines
Sort, scrape, and properly dispose of food waste and trash
Assist with basic kitchen tasks such as organizing supplies, restocking clean dishes, breaking down equipment, and simple prep
Support cooks and service staff by ensuring timely availability of clean dishes and utensils during service
Report broken or malfunctioning equipment or safety concerns to kitchen leadership
