About The Position

Under the supervision of Lead Cook, the Part-Time Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe kitchen environment. This position ensures that all dishes, china, silverware, glassware, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety standards. The Dishwasher also assists with general kitchen cleaning, dining room setup and cleanup, and other food service support duties as assigned. This position plays an essential role in providing a welcoming dining experience for our retreat guests by maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Every member of our team contributes to creating a welcoming, peaceful, and hospitable environment where guests can focus on rest, reflection, and spiritual renewal. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and enjoys working as part of a team. Nice To Haves

  • Any previous experience in stewarding is favorable
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • A bilingual person in English and Spanish is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Wash, rinse, sanitize, dry, and properly store dishes, china, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Operate the commercial dishwasher safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area throughout each shift.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces, sinks, floors, storage areas, and food preparation equipment.
  • Assist with dining room setup, beverage stations, serving areas, and cleanup before and after meals.
  • Remove trash and recycling, replacing liners as needed.
  • Restock cleaning supplies and notify the Lead Cook when inventory is running low.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Assist with closing duties, including cleaning and organizing assigned workstations.
  • Support the Food Services team with additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Treat guests, volunteers, and fellow staff members with courtesy, professionalism, and respect.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Cook or Kitchen Manager.
  • Maintain sanitary condition of dishes, utensils, glasses, pots, pans, equipment and kitchen in accordance with SRRC standards.
