About The Position

The Dishwasher performs dishwashing activities and is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas, storerooms, and equipment. The role also transports food, china, and equipment between storage and work areas. This position is based at Saint Paul RiverCentre, a large event and convention venue whose culinary team supports conferences, corporate gatherings, galas, and community events in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The position is on call, with variable shifts that include weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
Ability to move about and position oneself regularly while performing job duties.
Ability to operate and use dishwashing station tools, equipment, and chemicals.
Ability to communicate with employees and management.
Ability to move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Scrape food from dirty dishes; rack and wash china, glassware, and flatware by hand or using a dishwashing machine.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and trays.
Transport supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
Return clean kitchen utensils and equipment to their proper storage locations.
Clean kitchen equipment.
Communicate with the supervisor about supply needs and equipment maintenance.
Separate and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers.
Take out trash and recycling.
Clean and maintain the interior and exterior trash areas.
Sweep and mop floors.
Load and/or unload trucks delivering or picking up food and supplies.
