About The Position

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen, work areas, equipment, and utensils in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The focus of the Dishwasher includes general dishwasher and cleaning responsibilities to ensure the complete cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and work areas. Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Up to one-month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Scrapes/rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Washes pots, pans, and trays based on assigned procedures. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation. Lets dry completely before storing or reusing.
  • Polishes silver using burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth depending on assigned equipment and procedures. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Ensures compliance with all outlined safety procedures, up to and including use of cut gloves when handling and cleaning knives.
  • Maintains and tracks temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards. Lets supervisor know in a timely manner if levels are off.
  • Cleans and maintains dish area in an orderly manner to include mats, clear walkway and in compliance with all other safety standards.
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen floors at appropriate intervals to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks and all other food prep surfaces as assigned.
  • Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans in appropriate and assigned areas.
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas observing all safe lifting standards.
  • May assist with loading or unloading supplies and product.
  • Performs other functions and duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members.
  • Consistently promotes teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deals discretely and sensitively with confidential information.
  • Contributes by identifying problems and seeking solutions.
