About The Position

The Dishwasher is responsible for ensuring that every dish, piece of flatware, pot, and appliance meets the highest sanitation standards. This role is vital for the safety and well-being of guests and staff, as well as for the smooth operation of the entire kitchen. The Dishwasher is essential to the team, keeping everything in top condition so that the kitchen can run efficiently.

Requirements

• Prior hotel and dishwashing experience preferred.
• Ability to use various pieces of kitchen equipment efficiently and safely.
• Ability to perform medium work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning.
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms.
• Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
• Near Vision - the ability to see details at close range.
• Ability to move quickly and agilely if a situation requiring quick assistance arises.
• Ability to work long hours as is often required.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Possess communication skills so as to be able to convey and understand information and ideas conveyed in English.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the cleanliness of all dishware, service ware, cookware, utensils and related, including polishing stainless and silverware as needed.
• Carefully washing by hand and/or safely and skillfully operating the dish machine while keeping the wash area organized.
• Maintaining the kitchen by keeping all equipment – ovens, floors, walls, walk ins, vents, cooking services, trash bins, etc. – clean and sanitary.
• Performing deep cleaning projects to keep all areas up to standards.
• Following established safety and security policies & procedures as well as all OSHA guidelines, reporting issues to maintenance and/or security.
