Dishwasher
About The Position
This role is responsible for cleaning cooking utensils, plates, cups, saucers, silverware, glasses, and other dishes. The dishwasher also collects garbage from various areas in the kitchen and transports it to waste containers. The job requires maintaining cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas, completing opening and closing checklists, and conducting daily walk-throughs to ensure the facility is safe and presentable. The employee must protect the assets of the Club and operate within the guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints established by Hampton Golf.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience preferred
- Excellent oral communication and listening skills
- Ability to follow directions
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good organizational and verbal skills.
- Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, monitors and develops subordinates, visually monitor the operation areas, write and read member communication.
- Ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 40 lbs., up to 30 lbs. frequently.
- Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, lifting and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting.
- Ability to sustain aerobic activity for 20 consecutive minutes.
Responsibilities
- Prepares tableware for washing, receives or collects tableware to be washed, and removes food residue with a scraper, sorts china, glassware, and silverware, placing each in separate racks, or trays, etc. Heavily encrusted dishes will have to receive more attention in the way of scrubbing and soaking in order to loosen all material.
- Sets up the dishwashing machine, including turning the machine on, checking soap and rinse supply, and ensuring empty food strainers.
- Prepares glassware for washing by emptying liquids, separating glasses by size, and placing glassware in sectioned racks for the dishwashing machine.
- Dries and polishes glassware with clean dishtowels, sorting individual pieces by type if necessary.
- Cleans dishwashing equipment and working area.
- Collects garbage from the dining room, kitchen grills, and other collection areas, examining garbage for silverware and dishes.
- Delivers retrieved silverware and dishes to their respective areas.
- Cleans garbage cans thoroughly with hot soapy water and steam.
- Performs other necessary duties, such as keeping a record of broken dishes, sweeping and mopping the entire kitchen floor and perhaps other areas periodically throughout the day.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas as per F&B Manual.
- Completes opening and closing checklists as outlined in the F&B Manual.
- Conducts daily walk-throughs to ensure the facility is safe and presentable and that courtesy and efficiency are being exercised throughout.
- Protects the assets of the Club.
- Operates within the guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints as established by Hampton Golf.
