About The Position

Brentwood Country Club is seeking kitchen stewards/dishwashers to be part of our culinary department. Job Summary: Ensures a clean and workable kitchen area at all times by scraping food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, plates, glasses, flatware, service ware and miscellaneous items and washing them by hand and/or the dishwashing machine. Organizational and multi-tasking abilities. Attention to detail is necessary to clean and maintain equipment and work areas according to in-house, local, state and federal regulations for safety and sanitation. A steward must have mechanical skills to operate electric machines such as dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors and glass crushers.

Requirements

  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing 50 pounds
  • Standing up and moving about the kitchen or other designated areas
  • Handling, objects, products, chemicals, cleaning supplies and utensils
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling
  • Prolonged periods of standing, Bending, Squatting, Kneeling.
  • Repetitive use of hand required, Pushing and Pulling, Twisting
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience a plus
  • Hotel/Resort/Club or upscale restaurant experience
  • Kitchen Stewards: 1 year (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Set up work station as required to include filling dish machine, checking chemical levels, presoaking, and gathering required set-up equipment for appropriate work stations.
  • Replenish as needed for all shifts.
  • Rinse/scrape all dishes.
  • Operate dishwashing machine to manufacturer specifications and instructions.
  • Place clean dishes in assigned storage location.
  • Ensure cleaning schedule is adhered to and to the required standard
  • Sweep, mop and polish kitchen, dish area
  • Make sure all areas of kitchen/dish area are clean, including dish room
  • Prep dishes, equipment for banquets and service
  • May assist with other duties as assigned
