About The Position

The Dishwasher is responsible for ensuring all service and kitchen wares are clean and sanitized. This role involves interacting with fellow team members and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality. The position requires anticipating and accommodating the needs of all employees, aiding in cleaning inside and outside the venue, and proper storage and removal of garbage and soiled linens. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the dish station, kitchen, and the entire venue is crucial. The dishwasher must follow supervisor’s instructions, communicate with and support co-workers, and be a team player. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the dish machine, proper usage of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies, as well as general knowledge of the venue. Compliance with Department of Health and company sanitation standards is mandatory. The dishwasher will communicate product needs to chefs and/or purchasers, properly set-up the dish station, and perform opening/closing procedures. This includes stocking stations, maintaining and cleaning kitchen equipment, wiping down and sanitizing stations, and completing assigned opening and closing duties. Reporting all breakage and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management is required. The role also involves attending and participating in daily pre-service meetings, training sessions, and departmental meetings. Learning by listening, observing, and sharing knowledge while leading by example is expected. Portraying a positive and professional attitude, demonstrating knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality and its partners, and working as part of a team to provide help and support to all fellow team members are key aspects of this position. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to write, read, and verbally communicate.
  • Must be able to move quickly.
  • Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke.
  • Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
  • May work extended hours, irregular shifts, evening and/or weekend shifts, and holiday work may be required.
  • Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards.
  • Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.
  • Tao Group Hospitality in-venue dishwasher training.

  • Previous porter and/or Dishwasher experience preferred.
