About The Position

The Steward is responsible for certain duties including, but not limited to, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and cleaning dishes. Complies with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food service. Maintains quality control standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Possesses ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
  • Demonstrates ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous knowledge of food service preferred.
  • Possesses an understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
  • Serv Safe may be required to obtain within a designated time frame, depending upon location of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans, sanitizes and properly stocks of all dishes, pots, pans, flatware and glassware.
  • Stores all dishes and other wares in proper areas.
  • Performs daily cleaning to include dry storage, walk-in shelving, steam tables, hoods and exhaust system.
  • Empties the kitchen trash receptacles and properly disposes of garbage.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
