About The Position

Hotel Equities is searching for a remarkable Steward/Dishwasher for the Crowne Plaza KC Downtown Hotel in Kansas City, MO. This position operates the dishwashing machine to properly clean all dishes, glassware, flatware, and cooking utensils used in the kitchens, restaurants, and banquets. The role involves re-stocking all supplies in proper storage areas and performing general kitchen cleaning duties, including cleaning and mopping of kitchen floors, walk-ins, and freezers, as well as managing trash, bottle, and recycling removal.

  • Ability to transport large tubs weighing up to 40 lbs. through a kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work, stand, and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
  • The team member is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise.
  • The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor.
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
  • Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock.
  • Ensure clean wares are stored in appropriate areas.
  • Use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes.
  • Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, send soiled items back for re-scrubbing and re-washing.
  • Rack and spray all racked items with hot water to loosen and remove food residue.
  • Sort, soak, and wash/re-wash silverware.
  • Break down dirty bus tubs.
  • Empty and maintain trashcans and dumpster area.
  • Clean and mop all areas in assigned departments.
  • Dispose of glass in the proper containers.
  • Break down cardboard boxes and place them and other recyclables in the recycle bin.
  • Perform scheduled general cleaning duties to stay in compliance with the Health Department.
  • Prevent loss of dishware, utensils, and other kitchen items.
  • Promptly report all maintenance issues.
  • If necessary, assist servers with clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables upon guests’ departure.
  • If necessary, assist servers with clearing room service trays from corridors.
