About The Position
Housing Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and providing affordable housing and tailored services to reduce homelessness and poverty in Snohomish County and Camano Island. We achieve this through a variety of interventions including social enterprises, children's services, subsidized housing opportunities, and employment, education, and training services. Maintains cleanliness and order in the kitchen work area. Operates equipment and works by hand to scrape and wash plates, pots, pans, utensils and other kitchen tools and equipment. Sorts, stacks, and restocks service ware to proper location. Washes work areas, walls, refrigerators, floors, garbage cans and trash receptacles. Removes garbage and trash from kitchen and places in proper area. Practices sanitary food handling and safety.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a dishwasher or in a similar role in a commercial kitchen setting
- Current WA State Food Handler card
- Knowledge of proper food handling and safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition
- Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas
- Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
- Sweep or scrub floors
- Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars
- Clean or prepare various foods for cooking or serving
- Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks
