The Kitchen Support/Dishwasher is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen, dining room, and storage areas, including washing all dishes/pots/pans according to Public Health Standards. This role involves maintaining sanitation and proper health and safety standards of hygiene and safe handling of foods. The position requires working cooperatively with staff from various Centre of Hope departments and participating in regular staff meetings. The role also involves working in compliance with the Ontario Health & Safety Act and Regulations and The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures. The incumbent must be able to lift/move objects up to 50 lbs. with assistance, and perform tasks requiring reaching, bending, and stooping frequently, while working in a standing position for long periods of time.
