About The Position

Dishwashers are essential at Assets, Inc., keeping everything running behind the scenes while helping create opportunities for individuals with disabilities to succeed in the workplace. This role involves washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, supporting the kitchen team, and helping maintain a clean dining and work environment. It's a fast-paced, team-focused role that is meaningful and provides a great entry into food service or kitchen careers.

  • Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.

  • Must have an insured vehicle and current Alaska driver’s license (with no or low points).
  • Must provide copy of driving record, proof of insurance at time of hire.
  • Must be able to comply with the Joint Base Elmendorf/Richardson regulations regarding transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check under state regulations and able to obtain security clearance to worksite for security requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Food Service Sanitation knowledge
  • Prior experience washing dishes and/or performing janitorial work strongly preferred
  • Understanding of OSHA safety standards.
  • Ability to interpret MSDS materials.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment (by hand & machine)
  • Keeping everything clean, sanitized, and up to safety standards
  • Supporting the kitchen team so service runs smoothly
  • Helping maintain a clean dining and work environment
  • Manually or mechanically washes and rinses dishes, glasses and silverware; maintains proper temperature for sterilization and adds cleaning solutions as needed.
  • Utilizes a dish machine by filling the dish rack and breaking it down for cleaning and de-liming.
  • Operates a dish machine processing soiled wares from carts onto racks on a conveyer belt.
  • Sort dishes/silverware by size and type.
  • Perform additional dining facility attendant duties including ensuring dining area is clean, busing tables, wiping down counters, sweeping, mopping, cleaning kitchen hoods and fixtures, grease traps, doors, windows, mats, replenish and prepare self service areas, replenish wares, and vacuuming.
  • Satisfactorily complete food handler training and other company required trainings.
  • Actively participates in company/site required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain a proactive relationship with customers and coworkers.
  • Be familiar with and follow all policies set forth by Assets, Inc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
