About The Position

The Dish Washer works in the Food and Nutrition department at Advocate Christ Medical Center. This full-time role is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. The position ensures that tableware, pots and pans, utensils, kitchen equipment, and work surfaces are clean and sanitary. It performs routine work with little or no deviation from accepted practices and other related duties as assigned.

The role cleans dishes by hand or machine, including trays and silverware, and delivers a food truck to the Infirmary. It also maintains kitchen sanitation by cleaning equipment, mopping floors, and taking garbage to the dumpster; plans daily routine cleaning duties; and maintains professional working relationships while following department rules.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work with and serve various age groups.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Understanding of and ability to comply with sanitation standards.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of general kitchen experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and wash dishes by hand or machine, including trays, silverware, pots, and pans.

• Deliver the food truck to the Infirmary.
• Clean and wash kitchen machines, mop the floor, and take garbage to the dumpster.
• Plan the daily schedule of routine cleaning duties.

• Perform related duties as assigned.
