The position also involves sharing technical knowledge across teams, providing technical coaching, developing design standards, executing the digitalization roadmap, and driving continuous improvement. Additionally, the role contributes to developing innovative solutions, protecting intellectual property, and collaborating cross-functionally.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Electronics or related field
  • 5 years experience in similar role
  • Demonstrate a level of commitment, initiative and quality of workmanship required within an R&D Environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Confident, articulate, self motivated, determined & energetic.
  • Self-starter, motivated individual who can work alone, with little supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • automotive experience preferred
  • Experience with vision systems (camera, imager technology) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to achieving project budgets by optimizing resource allocation and adhering to cost-effective engineering practices.
  • Lead the technical execution of engineering projects, particularly those involving Newness levels 2-3 (new designs based on existing knowledge or design based on existing rules).
  • Serve as a referent for critical problem solving within the Discipline, utilizing Valeo standard methodologies like QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical solutions and challenges to internal and external customers, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Proactively share technical knowledge and best practices across teams and divisions, fostering collaboration and knowledge dissemination.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Discipline Engineers, fostering their professional development and expertise.
  • Leverage expertise to build, improve, and validate design standards for Newness levels 2-3, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and Valeo's strategic objectives.
  • Actively participate in the execution of the Discipline's Digitalization Roadmap, identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Analyze problem-solving outcomes to identify systemic issues and propose improvements to existing processes and methodologies.
  • Propose and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to engineering challenges, leveraging existing technologies and methodologies.
  • Identify patentable inventions arising from innovative solutions and actively participate in the patent filing process (IP).
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers and stakeholders from other Disciplines to ensure seamless project execution and integrated solutions.
