Under the general supervision of the Director of Disability Support Services, the Disability Counselor/Learning Specialist serves as a primary resource for students with disabilities, supporting equitable access, academic success, and student retention. Through a student-centered model, this position engages in the interactive process to determine reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and related laws, while also providing individualized academic support and coaching. Within the Disability Support Services, counselors maintain areas of specialized expertise while providing comprehensive support and case management to their assigned students. This position collaborates closely with students, faculty, and campus partners to promote access, inclusion, self-advocacy, and student success across the college community.
