About The Position

BlackRock's Financial Markets Advisory group (“FMA”) provides counsel to financial institutions, sovereigns and official institutions across a range of strategic, capital, balance sheet, risk and regulatory matters, across both public and private markets. At the heart of “BlackRock as a platform” FMA aims to build or deepen BlackRock’s relationships with our clients’ senior management, serving them on their most critical and most complex needs. The group brings together deep capital markets expertise, complex engagement management, data & analytics skills and strategic client advisory capabilities. At ~150 team members globally, FMA maintains a “boutique” focus, working where BlackRock brings unique perspective and experience and where we can advance BlackRock’s major commercial priorities. We distinguish ourselves through the combination of deep practitioner expertise and extensive market presence, with a fully fiduciary mindset – including the ability to operate behind strict information barriers where circumstances require. FMA also acts as a key talent laboratory for the firm, with many of BlackRock’s senior leaders having built their careers through the group and taken on broader leadership roles across the platform. We are looking to recruit a Director to join FMA, based in New York City. This position will play a central role in shaping and delivering FMA’s strategy in the Americas, combining senior-level client advisory, commercial leadership and talent development. The Director will be expected to act as a senior thought partner to FMA leadership, helping to identify priority themes, grow key client relationships, and build new advisory and investment collaboration opportunities aligned with BlackRock’s broader commercial objectives. The role includes project execution, idea generation for new business opportunities, relationship management, business development, and advising clients on complex capital markets challenges in partnership with the group’s subject matter experts. Externally, the role involves engagement with senior stakeholders across the region’s financial services and public sector ecosystems. Internally, the Director will leverage BlackRock’s capabilities across Capital Markets, Aladdin, Research and other businesses, acting as a connector across the platform.
