About The Position

Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies. We're looking for an exceptional leader to serve as our Director of Workplace & Engagement, part of our Employee Experience team. This is a senior leadership role with global scope: you'll set the strategy and vision for Fivetran's workplace experience across our 10 global office locations, and help drive engagement for all employees, including our remote workforce. In short, you'll help create amazing employee experiences everywhere Fivetran operates. In this role, you'll own and scale the team that manages Fivetran's global offices and events, and you'll develop and continuously refine a robust, strategic plan for fully serviced office options (WeWork, etc.) across our footprint. Deep international experience is an absolute priority for this role, as is the judgment to operate as a strategic partner to the broader Employee Experience and Finance leadership teams. We're looking for that special leader who thrives leading and inspiring a team of dedicated Workplace professionals across geographies, and who wants to thoughtfully help remote employees feel a genuine sense of belonging and engagement. As the senior leader of this function, the individual in this role will be expected to go into a local office regularly and to travel to other global locations as needed.

Requirements

  • Business acumen and expertise in identifying the strategic factors to weigh when making decisions about a leased local office vs. short-term options (WeWork, Regus, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively build the business case, including working closely with Finance to determine overall budget
  • Ability to effectively and strategically direct and advise international brokers to procure the most appropriate and cost-effective options for Fivetran while balancing the needs of the business

  • Experienced in lease terms and negotiations, able to work in close partnership with Finance to produce the best result for Fivetran
  • Broad knowledge of U.S. and overseas commercial real estate and WFH trends to help analyze and use data to make the best business recommendations for Fivetran's Future of Work
  • 10+ years of workplace, facilities, or office management experience, including significant experience managing a multi-country/global office portfolio (10+ locations a strong plus)
  • 7+ years of people management experience, including managing managers
  • Demonstrated leadership in experience design and/or culture-building programs at a global scale
  • Superb people management skills — a track record of leading, developing, and retaining strong teams
  • Excellent prioritization skills — able to distinguish between the important and the urgent, and know how to appropriately tackle each challenge
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to handle unexpected changes and challenges with poise and a collaborative mindset

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic vision for and lead a team of creative, driven individuals to create best-in-class workplace experiences for employees, candidates, and visitors across all 10 Fivetran office locations globally
  • Serve as the senior strategic partner to Finance and other stakeholders on overall office space strategy and management — balancing employee experience with global budgetary requirements
  • Own the plan and criteria for determining when to pursue a leased office vs. another option (WeWork, Spaces, Regus, etc.) across the U.S. and abroad
  • Drive the global employee experience calendar and company events strategy throughout the year, keeping inclusion and belonging top of mind with every project across every region
  • Own vendor selection strategy and guidelines, manage vendor service contracts, lead periodic and ongoing performance and financial reviews, conduct RFPs, and monitor the performance of the team, including service providers, across all 10 locations
  • Oversee attendance and other workplace metrics globally to keep the business informed of attendance and spending trends
  • Own and execute on-target financial budgets across all sites; partner with Finance to track monthly and quarterly metrics at a global portfolio level
  • Represent Workplace & Engagement in senior leadership forums, translating workplace strategy into business outcomes for company leadership
