About The Position

The Director, Organization Effectiveness leads the development and execution of comprehensive projects on Organization Design, Building Functional Capability models, and Strategic Workforce planning. Leading planning strategies to support enterprise objectives. This role oversees complex projects, aligning data-driven solutions with business goals while collaborating with cross-functional leaders. The Director ensures accurate workforce forecasting, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and fosters talent development through strategic workforce management. By promoting operational excellence and adherence to company standards, this position plays a critical role in optimizing workforce capabilities and advancing organizational performance across multiple business units. About the team: The Organization Effectiveness team supports Sam’s Club by driving business transformation through organization design, defining future functional capabilities, and strategic workforce planning. The team enhances People Partner effectiveness by distinguishing strategic from transactional work and leads process redesign to automate or retire routine tasks. Integrating AI into people processes and toolkits, it establishes partnership models that clarify roles, decision rights, and collaboration cadence. Focused on innovation, strategic alignment, and continuous improvement, this team plays a key role in advancing organizational effectiveness and supporting enterprise goals through data-driven workforce management and cross-functional leadership.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in workforce planning and management, with a strong ability to develop and implement strategic business plans.
  • Proven leadership skills in directing cross-functional teams and managing complex projects to successful completion.
  • Expertise in data analysis, business intelligence, and statistical methods to drive informed decision-making.
  • Strong proficiency in change management and workflow optimization to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and communicate effectively across organizational levels.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field and 5 years’ experience in data management, business analytics, statistics, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in data analysis, statistics, computer science, or related area.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute complex organization design, defining functional capabilities, and workforce planning projects.
  • Develop and oversee workforce analytics, evaluation strategies, and improvement initiatives aligned with enterprise objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to validate workforce data, enhance forecasting accuracy, and support annual operational planning.
  • Manage project priorities, resources, and milestones while facilitating communication among stakeholders and teams.
  • Implement metrics to measure project success and provide regular status updates to key partners.
  • Drive talent development strategies including capability gap analysis, recruitment, mentorship, and succession planning.
  • Promote adherence to company standards, ethics, and compliance within workforce programs and practices.
