The Opportunity: Reporting directly to the Vice President, US Analytics & Insights, the Director, Market Access Analytics will serve as the analytics and insights leader dedicated to US Market Access. This role will support launch planning and commercialization readiness by translating payer, reimbursement, contracting, channel, and patient access data into clear strategic guidance for the organization. Candidates should bring deep knowledge of the US market access landscape, strong analytical and business-partnering capabilities, and a track record of converting complex data into actionable recommendations in a fast-growing organization. Oncology and launch experience are strongly preferred. This position is based out of our headquarters in Redwood City, CA.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, data science, public health, life sciences, or a related discipline; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MS, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) preferred.
8+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare consulting, or analytics environments, including at least 4 years supporting US market access analytics or closely related payer, reimbursement, pricing, contracting, or patient access decisions.
Demonstrated success supporting product launches and commercialization, preferably for oncology, specialty, or physician-administered products and in a pre-launch or rapidly scaling organization.
Strong understanding of the US market access landscape, including commercial and government payers, pharmacy and medical benefit dynamics, formulary and medical policy, reimbursement, specialty distribution, provider and GPO dynamics, patient support services, and contracting economics.
Hands-on experience with market access data such as payer coverage and policy, longitudinal patient claims, prescription and sales, hub and specialty pharmacy, distribution, rebate and contract performance, and account hierarchy data.
Expertise in analytical problem solving, including KPI design, segmentation, opportunity assessment, scenario modeling, performance measurement, and the ability to translate an ambiguous business question into a rigorous analytical approach.
Proficiency with business intelligence and analytical tools such as Tableau or Power BI and advanced Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of SQL and/or other analytical programming tools is strongly preferred.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to present concise, executive-ready narratives and drive decisions across senior and cross-functional stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead through influence, manage multiple external vendors and workstreams, mentor colleagues, and deliver high-quality results within budget and established timelines.
Strong business acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset, with comfort operating hands-on amid ambiguity in a smaller, rapidly growing company and a passion for helping cancer patients.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Market Access Analytics lead on the US A&I team, developing and executing an integrated analytics plan that supports access strategy, launch readiness, performance monitoring, and business planning across the US portfolio.
Act as a strategic thought partner to Market Access leadership and partners in Pricing & Contracting, Payer and Provider Account Management, Field Reimbursement, Patient Services, Trade and Distribution, Brand, Finance, HEOR, and Commercial Analytics.
Own and evolve the market access KPI framework, establishing consistent definitions and executive-ready reporting across payer coverage and restrictions, contracting, channel performance, patient access and affordability, and field execution.
Lead payer, formulary, and coverage analytics across commercial and government segments, including medical and pharmacy benefit dynamics, covered lives, utilization management, payer policy trends, account segmentation, and access opportunity assessments.
Evaluate patient access and reimbursement performance by integrating patient-level claims, hub, specialty pharmacy, distribution, copay, and other relevant data to identify friction points, abandonment drivers, time-to-therapy trends, and opportunities to improve the patient journey.
Support contracting decisions through analog assessments, post-contract performance measurement, pull-through analytics, and clear assessment of the financial and access implications of strategic options. Partner with Finance on gross-to-net assumptions and variance analyses; this role does not own forecasting or gross-to-net calculations.
Develop and lead launch and in-market analytical capabilities, including payer archetyping and segmentation, access scenarios, account opportunity assessments, launch dashboards, early performance indicators, and post-launch diagnostic analyses.
Integrate multiple evidence sources, including primary payer research, secondary data, competitive intelligence, policy and market developments, and HEOR evidence, to create a holistic view of access drivers, risks, and opportunities.
Partner with Market Access, Information Systems and Data teams to inform data strategy and acquisition, business requirements, data quality standards, governance, and scalable reporting architecture while complying with applicable regulatory, security, and privacy requirements.
Translate complex analyses into compelling recommendations and communicate the strength, limitations, implications, and recommended actions to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Drive adoption of fit-for-purpose advanced analytics and automation, including scenario modeling, predictive approaches, artificial intelligence, and emerging data sources where they can materially improve access decisions and execution.
Hire and manage multiple direct reports.
Manage external analytics partners and operating budgets from scoping and vendor selection through quality review and delivery, ensuring rigor, timeliness, knowledge transfer, and value for investment.
Help build and scale the function by establishing best practices, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to future team design and talent development as business needs expand.
Travel as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
