About The Position

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting for a Director, US Commercial Marketing, Ultrasound Catheters, Systems and Reprocessing within the Cardiac Imaging and Structural Heart business. This role will be responsible for leading marketing initiatives related to the cardiovascular specialties of electrophysiology and interventional cardiology. The Cardiovascular team develops leading solutions for heart recovery, electrophysiology, structural heart and stroke. The ideal candidate will be an execution-focused leader, capable of leading a portfolio with significant breadth and depth spanning capital, software, disposables and reprocessed devices, while serving three different clinical stakeholders in electrophysiology, interventional cardiology and echocardiography. The individual must manage the US relationship with two third-party ultrasound partners in the cardiovascular ultrasound space. The individual will lead a team of four marketing managers, who manage: 1) the 2D ICE platform and reprocessing, 2) the 4D ICE Navigation platform and related software for the CARTO 3 System, 3) the 4D ICE Non Nav platform and Structural Heart and 4) Ultrasound systems, software and accessories. You will also indirectly lead a team of 180+ ultrasound clinicals, who look to US marketing to establish the US strategy.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of professional marketing/product management experience with at least 5 in cardiovascular MedTech is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
  • Experience in bringing new novel products to market.
  • Experience leading teams of 2 or more people.
  • Extensive knowledge of brand strategy and positioning, leading strategic frameworks for messaging and campaign development.
  • Understanding of related aspects of brand marketing concepts and principles.
  • Strong project management skills when balancing multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience budgeting and with ROI concepts.
  • An innovative mindset, contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards that push our brand forward.
  • Knowledge and understanding of brand communication channels; print, digital and new media production.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of the interventional cardiology community trends and more specifically, the segments targeted by assigned products, including the motivators for action.
  • Ability to develop relationships with key opinion leaders. Modify strategies and tactics when necessary, based on voice of customer and emerging trends.
  • Cross functional team leadership experience required.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills include developing relationships in all levels of the organization and indirectly influencing business objectives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as individual contributor or as part of team, while managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing requirements.
  • Travel up to 30% for customer visits and EP or SH meeting attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Define annual strategies and tactics to deliver the US Business Plan.
  • Develop competitive landscape analysis and market segmentation. Utilize DRG, CPT, qlik, UCAS case coverage logs and other data sources to inform decisions.
  • Oversee launch readiness reviews for all NPI. Ensure teams have developed robust go to market strategies for product lines.
  • Oversee the creation of clinical and economic promotional materials, ensuring all messaging is supported by robust clinical data and scientific rigor.
  • Partner with GSM, R&D, finance, supply chain, meeting planners, compliance and other departments.
  • Develop budgets and capital plans to refresh or expand existing demo or simulator pools. Monitor budget, track ROI, and adjust strategies to meet revenue targets.
  • Work with team to develop pricing recommendations and make ad hoc pricing decisions when needed across disposables and capital. Develop all commercial pathways for 7 versions of ultrasound systems and all accessories.
  • Develop two year forecasts for all products taking care to understand new procedural growth areas, cannibalization and reprocessing dynamics.
  • Work cross functionally to ensure adequate professional and commercial education programs and certification processes are in place to drive NPI. Work with professional education to expand our fellows presence.
  • Implement omnichannel marketing campaigns across, EP and interventional cardiology to capture customer mindshare and growth.
  • In conjunction with the global director of partnerships, ensure appropriate KOLs are selected to amplify our brands’ evidence on podium and beyond. Participate as point person and key decision maker for how we show up at US structural heart conventions.
  • Cultivate relationships with electrophysiologists, interventional cardiologists, and imaging cardiologists to shape the future of imaging for cardiac and transcatheter interventions.
  • Hire, mentor, and manage a team of marketing professionals to execute marketing initiatives. Ensure teams have development plans in place.
  • Own the relationship for both of our OEM ultrasound system manufacturers. Conduct bi-annual face to face business reviews and stay connected through regular communication.
