About The Position

MDA Space is seeking a Director, Transformation Portfolio to provide enterprise leadership for a portfolio of large, complex business transformation initiatives. This role is accountable for the end-to-end transformation lifecycle, ensuring initiatives are executed on scope, schedule, budget, and achieve measurable business outcomes. The Director will drive strategic alignment, investment prioritization, and delivery performance across the enterprise, while establishing governance, delivery discipline, and organizational capability to scale transformation and improve business performance.

Requirements

  • 12+ years in transformation or portfolio leadership.
  • Proven accountability for large, complex portfolios (multi-program, enterprise-wide impact).
  • Demonstrated success delivering end-to-end lifecycle (strategy → execution → adoption → value realization).
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives spanning people, process and tool changes.
  • Background in regulated / complex industries (e.g., aerospace, defense, manufacturing) strongly preferred.
  • PMP or PMI certification, Prosci preferred.
  • Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and be able to obtain higher clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Translate enterprise strategy into an integrated transformation roadmap and prioritized portfolio of initiatives.
  • Establish portfolio sequencing and investment strategies based on value, risk, readiness, and capacity.
  • Own portfolio investment performance, including funding allocation, forecasting, and return on investment.
  • Ensure all initiatives are supported by robust business cases with clearly defined outcomes and benefits.
  • Ensure initiatives are delivered on scope, schedule, budget, and expected business outcomes.
  • Establish and enforce delivery standards, controls, and governance.
  • Maintain visibility into delivery health, forecasts, and risks.
  • Intervene and redirect projects as needed.
  • Lead governance forums and support executive decision-making.
  • Frame decisions with options, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Establish decision rights and escalation paths.
  • Align executive stakeholders.
  • Own benefits realization and value tracking.
  • Align investments to business outcomes.
  • Track financial performance and Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Adjust funding to maximize value.
  • Maintain enterprise risk and dependency view.
  • Lead integration across programs.
  • Mitigate risks proactively.
  • Resolve cross-program conflicts.
