About The Position

Apollo.io is seeking a Director, Technical Program Management (TPM) to drive technical program management for Engineering’s most complex, high-impact cross-functional programs. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, this role will define how the organization plans, coordinates, and delivers its most critical initiatives. The ideal candidate will build operating mechanisms that make execution predictable, from planning and dependency management to risk visibility and delivery tracking, enabling leadership to make decisions with confidence. This role requires a proactive individual who identifies needs, acts before being asked, and continuously raises the bar for Engineering execution. The company is an AI-native, fast-growing SaaS company, trusted by over 500,000 companies globally, and is rebuilding its product and work processes around AI and agents.

Requirements

  • Deep experience as a technical program manager driving large, complex, cross-functional engineering programs to delivery in a fast-moving software company.
  • Strong technical grounding, credibility with senior engineers, and the ability to go deep on tradeoffs.
  • Excellent written communication and stakeholder management across engineering, product, and the executive level.
  • Strong judgment on delivery mechanics: planning, dependencies, risk, and operating cadence.
  • Genuine fluency with AI tools and a habit of using them to raise leverage.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the largest and most complex cross-functional programs end-to-end, from framing the problem through to landing the outcome.
  • Set the standard for how complex programs are run, and raise the bar for program execution across engineering.
  • Own the delivery mechanics of the organization: planning, dependency and risk management, and the operating cadence that keeps programs on track.
  • Make delivery predictable and visible, with clear owners, timelines, and status that leadership can trust.
  • Drive cross-team coordination, unblock dependencies, and surface and manage risk early.
  • Partner with engineering and product leadership to turn strategy into sequenced, resourced plans, and keep them honest.
  • Use AI tools to run large programs single-handedly, from planning and tracking to status and reporting.
  • Build AI-driven workflows that raise leverage and make the whole organization faster.
