About The Position

The Director – Thought Leadership supports the Market Management team in achieving a key objective: to enhance the Transaction Banking both internally and externally. You will be responsible for: Building and executing a multi-channel thought leadership program that strengthens the Transaction Banking franchise, supports client engagement, and positions the bank as a leading voice on payments and treasury modernization. Owning the market and competitive intelligence capability, monitoring competitor moves, synthesizing market signals, and translating insights into differentiated points of view, go-to-market narratives, and executive decision support. The role develops an insight agenda grounded in client needs and market disruption, partners with internal product/coverage leaders and external institutions, and converts research into high-impact content, events, and executive communications that drive measurable commercial outcomes. You will engage with multiple internal stakeholders within and supporting Transaction Banking including product teams (payments, liquidity, channels), origination/coverage, marketing/communications, risk/legal/compliance, and senior executives. You will also engage external partners such as industry bodies, academia, and key client audiences.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in communication, strategy, management consulting, research/insights, treasury or relevant banking domain roles.
  • Strong understanding of transaction banking / payments / treasury landscape and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, comfortable with ambiguity and cross-functional execution.
  • Strong writing/storytelling, with confidence presenting to senior leaders and external audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver the thought leadership strategy, themes, and annual roadmap aligned to transaction banking priorities and overall enterprise direction.
  • Conduct ongoing market scanning (payments trends, disruptions, regulatory/rail modernization) and translate into a prioritized editorial calendar.
  • Plan and deliver integrated marketing and distribution (campaigns, social/digital, sales enablement, targeted pushes).
  • Identify research questions; partner with internal experts and/or researchers to produce credible analysis and narratives.
  • Build and maintain a structured “capability map” that compares competitor, as well as “battlecards” for priority solutions.
  • Synthesize findings into clear recommendations and implementation implications for clients and internal strategy leaders.
  • Produce and oversee a portfolio of deliverables: reports, executive briefs, POVs, articles, white papers, scripts, webinars, podcasts, and conference materials.
  • Lead external-facing programs: roundtables, industry conferences, webinars, and client events, partnering with product teams and coverage leaders.
  • Ensure content is on-brand, evidence-based, and differentiated (POV + data + “so what” for clients) across multiple lines of business (LOBs).
  • Contribute to RFP/RFI responses across multiple LOBs for both existing and emerging products and solutions.
  • Create executive-ready artifacts for steering committees and senior leadership updates; support strategic planning cycles with insight inputs.
  • Equip coverage teams with talk tracks, FAQs, and client-ready summaries to improve consistency and impact.
