About The Position

Internal Audit’s mission is to provide independent assurance to the Board of Directors and Executive Management that BlackRock’s businesses are effectively managed and achieving strategic, operational, and risk management objectives. The Technology Audit team is a global function operating across the United States, Europe, and Asia, partnering with technology and business leaders to assess risk, evaluate control effectiveness, and provide insights that strengthen governance, resilience, and operational performance. The team delivers assurance across application platforms, infrastructure environments, information security, data management, and technology-enabled business processes, helping build confidence that BlackRock meets its commitments to clients, shareholders, employees, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; undergraduate or graduate degree in management information systems, engineering, computer science, or a related technology discipline preferred.
Strong understanding of technology architecture, processes, risks, controls, frameworks (CoBIT, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO, ITIL and COSO), and industry standards across, cloud environments, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, information security, data management and applications.
Direct experience in technology audit, technology risk, or a related control function within a complex organization, preferably in financial services.
Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain teams of highly skilled professionals while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Strong project management, organizational, and presentation skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including experience preparing audit reports, executive presentations, and stakeholder communications.
Demonstrated ability to build credibility and maintain effective relationships with executive management, regulators, and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and oversight as the Accountable Audit Director and Independent Audit Director for assurance reviews evaluating the controls supporting the design, development, implementation, and operation of technology solutions across the firm.
Serve as the primary relationship manager for senior technology stakeholders, developing a deep understanding of business strategies, operating models, key initiatives, and emerging risks.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with technology leadership, Information Security, Technology Risk Management, and other control functions to promote effective risk management and coordinated assurance activities.
Oversee risk assessments and the delivery of the annual audit plan across core technology, data, infrastructure, and technology-enabled business functions.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of audit professionals by providing meaningful feedback, mentorship, and growth opportunities while fostering a high-performance culture.
Manage resources effectively to optimize productivity, support talent development, and deliver high-quality assurance and advisory engagements.
Champion process improvements that enhance efficiency, accountability, consistency, and the overall effectiveness of the audit function.
