About The Position

The Director, Technical Program Management leads the planning and execution of complex, large-scale technical programs, ensuring alignment across multiple teams and business areas. This role drives strategic decision-making, manages cross-functional dependencies, and oversees end-to-end system design and delivery. The position requires expertise in program management, technical architecture, and stakeholder engagement to optimize resources, mitigate risks, and enhance operational efficiency. Requirements

  • Extensive experience in program and project management, including planning, risk mitigation, and delivery of large-scale technical programs.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex dependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong technical expertise in system design, cloud infrastructure, software and hardware lifecycles, and emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing to align priorities and drive consensus.
  • Proficiency in defining measurable goals, analyzing data for decision-making, and driving continuous process improvements.
  • Experience mentoring team members and fostering high-performing, collaborative environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 7 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
  • OR 9 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Project Management.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, with specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, information systems, or related area and 5 years’ experience in product design.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to secure buy-in, align priorities, and communicate program status through data-driven insights.
  • Promote automation and tooling to increase engineering velocity and reduce operational overhead.
