About The Position

Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Requirements

  • Completion of a degree in Engineering/Architecture or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
  • Demonstrated years' of progressive experience in capital project management and implementation, including at least five years of experience managing large, complex, multi-year transit projects
  • A valid Class “G” driver’s license is required

Nice To Haves

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario or Architect (O.A.A) in the Province of Ontario is an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic technical oversight across in-service and in-flight Rapid Transit projects, from design through commissioning and operations.
  • Lead technical change management, including scope development, technical reviews, variations, and No-Objection decisions.
  • Lead Systems Working Groups and coordinate changes across ATS, S&TCS, SCADA, I&IT, cybersecurity, and other operational systems.
  • Assess technical changes for system integration, operational, safety, maintainability, configuration, and lifecycle impacts.
  • Provide technical leadership for system-performance improvements, investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex technical and interface issues.
  • Lead the development and governance of Rapid Transit technical standards, design requirements, and lessons learned.
  • Apply operating-line experience to in-flight and future projects and escalate significant technical risks, deficiencies, and departures from requirements.
