About The Position

The Director Information Systems will perform supervisory duties including coaching, training, motivating, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews of assigned departmental staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of all departmental duties. This role involves identifying and managing company IT & IS-related needs, acting as a liaison, and providing oversight of 3rd Party IT Support vendors. The position requires managing staff, coordinating training, acting as a knowledge base, scheduling meetings with IT vendors, researching industry developments, assisting with project implementation, and serving as a technology resource for the company. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting issues and testing updates for supported applications, and expanding technical knowledge through workshops and seminars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Sciences, or a related field is required.
  • Five or more years of practical work experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong management, organization, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to perform a variety of complex tasks requiring exercise of independent judgment.
  • Ability to work on several projects at a time.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English and other general educational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform supervisory duties such as coaching, training, motivating, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews of assigned departmental staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all departmental assigned duties.
  • Identify & Manage company IT & IS-related needs.
  • Act as a liaison and provide oversight of 3rd Party IT Support vendor.
  • Manage assigned department staff, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Monitor and coordinate staff training to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Act as a knowledge base and backup for department processes and procedures and/or ensure cross-training is in place.
  • Schedule and attend regular meetings with IT Vendor to ensure proper response, resolution & escalation are in place.
  • Research and monitor ongoing industry developments and identify and recommend potential new technologies.
  • Develop, assist with, and support the implementation of short- and long-term project proposals.
  • Be available as an information and technology resource for others in the company.
  • Assist with troubleshooting of issues and testing updates related to PDT IS Department-supported applications.
  • Expand technical knowledge and management capabilities by attending workshops, seminars, and conferences related to the medical information management industry.
