About The Position

The Director Surgical Services (RN) is a full-time, exempt position working days, Monday-Friday, and is available for staff when needed. This role is with Havasu Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health. The position involves leading a high-performing surgical team that prioritizes patient safety through mutual trust and a deeply rooted culture of psychological safety. The Director will lead a collaborative, supportive clinical team in a fast-paced perioperative environment, overseeing 114 FTEs, 9,000 annual surgical cases, and 2,000 annual endoscopic procedures across 10 active Operating Rooms. The areas of responsibility include Main OR, Havasu Ambulatory Surgery Center, PreOp, PACU, Preadmission Testing, Anesthesia Services, and CSPD, covering specialties such as Orthopedics, Urology, OB/GYN, General Surgery, Plastics, ENT, Neurosurgery, and Podiatry. The multidisciplinary staff includes surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and sterile processing technicians.

Requirements

  • Current Arizona RN license
  • Bachelor of Science (BSN) from an accredited nursing school
  • 5+ years of surgical nursing experience
  • Proven leadership experience in the surgical setting

Responsibilities

  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
  • Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
  • Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
