About The Position

The Director of Supply Chain oversees end-to-end operations within a fast-moving food production environment, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, and production planning. This role is accountable for driving efficiency, managing costs, and ensuring reliable product distribution through effective sales and operations planning and inventory strategies. By leveraging ERP systems and data insights, the position enables informed decision-making and operational visibility. The role also maintains compliance with all applicable safety, transportation, and food handling regulations while leading continuous improvement efforts to achieve operational excellence and align with quality and financial targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration or a related field is required.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and leading Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and inventory planning/optimization systems.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems is required – experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or a similar ERP) is highly beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including FDA/USDA food safety requirements, HACCP principles, OSHA safety standards, and DOT regulations for transportation.
  • The candidate must have experience developing or maintaining compliance programs in areas such as quality/safety audits, OSHA safety training, and DOT licensing/record-keeping for fleet operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and to negotiate with suppliers and service providers.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. APICS CPIM/CSCP, ISM CPSM, or Six Sigma Black Belt) are highly desirable for demonstrating advanced knowledge.
  • Food or dairy manufacturing industry experience is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferred.
