About The Position

The Supplier Development Director leads the Isolation Valves business by improving supply chain service levels from a cost, speed, delivery, quality, and cash perspective. This role serves as the Global Supplier Development Leader, working with the team and suppliers to apply Perfect Execution concepts and structured problem solving to implement improvement programs across the global supply base. This position is responsible for driving strategic initiatives focused on identifying and developing key supplier partners while consolidating the tail supplier base. The role also leads the development of all new product development (NPD) and resourcing opportunities that support the growth of our World Areas. The Supplier Development Director owns the development and execution of supplier capacity plans, ensuring progress is made on schedule to support the organization's mid-term and long-term business growth objectives. This role also works closely with Product Supply Chain Leaders, Buyers, Material Managers, and Quality Managers to drive cost reduction initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in related field
  • Expertise on Process knowledge like Castings, Assembly and Machining
  • Flexibility to travel 20% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Set and reinforce standards for a safe work environment.
  • Should be able to demonstrate expertise on Supplier management and positively influencing the Business Goals and Objectives.
  • Drive supplier transfer programs with customer team engagement and program management.
  • Review supplier proposals, assess manufacturing feasibility feedback, discuss with Engineering, and resolve the open issues.
  • Actively participate in the monthly buyer report out meeting to support planning and inventory Control managers, Buyer/Planners, and Quality Managers through the fast resolution of escalated / repetitive supplier delivery and quality issues, including root causes countermeasures (RCCM), and long-term effective corrective actions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators like RDSL and DPPM.
  • Initiate development program on TOP RDSL suppliers.
  • Support chronic DPPM issues to Plant QA.
  • Support Global Supplier Quality in case of chronic issues escalation.
  • Analyze site forecasts provided to critical suppliers and keep close communication with Operations as well as the supplier to identify programs necessary to maintain supplier performance (stocking program opportunities, adjusting suppliers’ capacities, etc.)
  • Ensure Suppliers are trained in Structured Problem Solving, Lean & Six Sigma, and that Supplier management is committed to the use of these tools.
