About The Position

The Director of Supply Chain Management oversees Hospital Materials and ensures proper guidance is given to the operation to meet quality and operational standards. The Director oversees the effective management the department and ensures the competence of a workforce that consistently meets regulatory requirements and strives to exceed safety, efficiency, and service standards. The Director serves as a resource and communication link on supply chain issues and topics. The Director of Supply Chain Management will consistently meet DRH Health’s leadership expectations and inspire the highest standards of professional behavior, teamwork, and performance throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English.
  • Basic computer skills with information technology associated with the position including a familiarity with email, word processing, and spreadsheets and hospital materials management systems (Meditech preferred).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and to remain flexible to quickly adapt to urgent situations.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and be self-directed.
  • Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hospital supply chain management required.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience required.
  • FEMA ICS 100, 200, and 700 certifications required; May have up to 90 days from day of hire or transfer to obtain.
  • For those positions requiring travel, a current valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
  • Knowledge of current hospital supply chain practices, techniques and terminology.
  • Knowledge of analysis techniques utilized in budgetary planning.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to organize and evaluate work requirements to meet deadlines.
  • Applicants for this position cannot test positive in pre-employment drug tests (or any drug tests administered after employment begins) for the presence of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a psychoactive component of cannabis. This is true even if the applicant is in possession of a valid medical marijuana card that otherwise allows the license-holder to legally use and consume medical marijuana.
  • Team Members in “Safety-Sensitive” positions are not permitted to test positive for the presence of THC in any pre-employment drug test, or any other drug test administered after employment begins.
  • This position requires respirator and fit testing.
  • Required testing will be performed on all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet producing procedures, or any caustic chemicals.
  • As a condition of employment, vaccinations are required per DRH Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the activities, operations, and leaders in Materials Management.
  • Mentor and coach leaders in all areas of policy compliance, inventory control, service excellence, regulatory compliance, and applicable accrediting standards.
  • Direct and supervise leaders in the technical performance of their daily work.
  • Oversee department leaders as they schedule appropriate coverage for their departmental needs and administer proper time and leave reporting for their assigned team members.
  • Effectively communicate leader performance expectations, fairly evaluate performance, communicate met and unmet expectations, and assist leaders in areas of development and improvement.
  • Ensure full compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, statutes, and state and federal regulatory requirements, codes, and related applicable laws.
  • Interact effectively with all team members within the hospital, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, and all rules, regulations, and orders which are applicable to the individual's own position, actions, and conduct.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and budgets, overseeing their implementation to ensure the overall quality of services in accordance with administrative directives and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Ensure conformance with applicable accreditation, licensing, and quality assurance standards.
  • Strategically plan and develop program components, including facilities, equipment, program growth, and personnel requirements.
  • Provide an environment for continuous improvement in quality and performance.
  • Design, develop, implement, evaluate, and revise systems to improve cost-effective service delivery.
  • Oversee effective coordination of services.
  • Prepare reports, statistics, and surveys to monitor and document services and functions.
  • Evaluate and recommend new analyses, equipment, and technology related to supply chain services and management.
  • Develop and implement budgets and monthly budget variance analysis and associated reporting.
  • Improve performance of quality metrics related to nationally recognized organizations such as The Joint Commission, The Compliance Team, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and other measures related to achieving departmental and organizational strategic goals, actively improving patient satisfaction, facilitating the prevention of infections, and others determined by leadership as related to job responsibilities.
  • Implement strategies to increase the percentage of overall customer satisfaction annually.
  • Successful achievement of organizational goals.
  • Successfully complete leadership training and demonstrate competency in leadership.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education opportunities including internal and external educational offerings.
  • Utilization of assistive devices for lifting is mandatory.
  • Must adhere to, and promote, safety protocols at all times.
  • Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
  • Per DRH policy, all required conditions of employment must be met and maintained including required vaccinations.
  • Perform additional duties as required or delegated.
