(USA) Director, Supply Chain Management
About The Position
The (USA) Director, Supply Chain Management leads the strategic direction and execution of supply chain operations to optimize product flow from suppliers to stores, ensuring alignment with sales, inventory, and profitability goals. This role drives continuous improvement initiatives, manages key external partnerships, and oversees performance metrics to enhance service levels and cost efficiencies. The position requires strong leadership in developing talent, fostering collaboration across stakeholders, and implementing innovative solutions that support business objectives while maintaining high standards of integrity and operational excellence. The Transportation Operations team ensures accurate and timely delivery of Walmart orders by managing outbound product movement from fulfillment centers through sort centers to delivery networks. Collaborating with internal operations and external transportation providers, the team drives service excellence and network efficiency across middle-mile and final-mile logistics. Focused on optimizing supply chain strategy, supplier performance, and carrier management, the team fosters seamless customer delivery experiences while continuously improving operational processes and partnerships to support Walmart’s commitment to reliable and efficient supply chain execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field and 5 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area.
- 3 years’ experience with advanced functionality of Microsoft Office.
- 2 years’ supervisory experience.
- Extensive experience in supply chain management with a proven ability to direct end-to-end supply chain execution and improve operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership skills to develop, mentor, and engage high-performing teams while fostering collaboration across stakeholders.
- Expertise in supply chain strategy, including flow path optimization, inventory profitability, and process improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in supplier performance and carrier management, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively manage internal and external relationships and resolve supply chain disruptions.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data for decision-making and cost reduction opportunities.
- Knowledge of fulfillment and parcel carrier operations.
