About The Position

Berklee is seeking a Director of Student Success Advising to lead and innovate within their transformative, holistic student success model, the Berklee Bridge. This role focuses on making a 360-degree impact on the student experience, encompassing academic, personal, artistic, and professional development. The Director will lead a team of professional advisors, ensuring each student has a comprehensive support system and fostering their capacity for self-direction and growth within a personalized, cohort-based model. The position directly supports the next generation of creative leaders.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 7 years in undergraduate advising.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervising/mentoring professional staff.
  • Comfort with predictive analytics and Student Information Systems (SIS).
  • High level of empathy, listening skills, and adaptability to diverse student needs.
  • Deep commitment to supporting students from over 100 countries in their development as performers, educators, and therapists.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor 5-6 professional advisors, fostering their advancement and a growth-oriented environment.
  • Oversee the holistic care of approximately 1,500 undergraduate students within a cohort-based model.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Dean to drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and utilize predictive analytics for retention and outreach strategies.
  • Partner with Academic Affairs, Health & Wellness, and the Equity Leadership Team to coordinate care for complex student cases.
  • Serve as an active member of the Berklee CARES committee, supporting students of concern through assessment and intervention.
  • Provide direct advising to an assigned caseload of students, guiding them through milestones from major declaration to graduation.
  • Identify and coach academically at-risk students, connecting them with necessary resources.
  • Monitor student progress through essential curriculum markers to ensure a timely path to professional success.
