About The Position

VersaBank is seeking a Director or Senior Relationship Manager to join its VersaBank USA N.A. Structured Finance Team. This role is crucial for driving the stability and growth of the Bank’s high-performing product offerings within the US Structured Finance Program. The position involves originating, structuring, underwriting, and managing complex receivable financing programs, with direct involvement in credit structuring, transaction execution, and portfolio performance monitoring. This is a dynamic role that goes beyond traditional relationship management, focusing on custom solutions for both existing partners and new prospects.

Requirements

  • Business degree or related post-secondary education.
  • 5+ years in structured finance, with experience in forward flow facilities, receivables financing, or securitization markets strongly preferred.
  • Background in banking, credit funds, fintech lenders, or structured credit platforms.
  • Strong credit underwriting and structuring experience.
  • Advanced financial analysis and modelling skills (Excel required, Power BI a strong asset).
  • Ability to evaluate complex asset pools and transaction structures.
  • Proven ability to manage both client relationships and credit risk.
  • Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of ownership and accountability in managing transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the structuring and underwriting of new and existing receivable financing programs, combining elements of forward flow and securitization transactions within VersaBank’s differentiated Structured Receivable Program.
  • Design tailored transaction structures aligned with client needs and the Bank’s risk appetite.
  • Prepare and present detailed credit applications, including risk identification, structural mitigants and complex modeling.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders and Credit to support deal approval and execution.
  • Manage a portfolio of structured transactions with full accountability for performance, growth and risk management.
  • Monitor asset performance, covenant compliance, and credit quality across programs.
  • Identify emerging risks and proactively recommend restructuring or risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead portfolio reviews, watchlist reporting, and ongoing credit assessments.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, working collaboratively to optimize and grow programs.
  • Engage directly with counterparties to evolve funding structures and expand existing relationships.
  • Address portfolio issues including delinquencies, maturities, and performance deterioration.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with internal policies, credit standards, and regulatory requirements (including BSA/AML/KYC).
  • Lead the legal documentation process with external legal counsel to finalize transaction structures and security.
  • Work cross-functionally with Compliance, Credit, and Operations to support efficient deal execution.
  • Contribute to enhancements in credit processes, policies, and structuring approaches.
  • Deliver actionable portfolio insights through advanced analytics and reporting (Excel / Power BI).
  • Provide senior management with data-driven perspectives on portfolio trends and performance.
  • Support ongoing optimization of structured programs.
