Director, Strategy Communications, Varian Business Area

Siemens Healthineers
$200,420 - $275,572Hybrid

About The Position

Siemens Healthineers is seeking a strategic, high-impact communicator to join our Varian business area and partner closely with Strategy leadership to shape and amplify our external narrative and positioning in cancer care. This role sits at the intersection of storytelling, executive influence, and business strategy, shaping how we are understood by patients, customers, policymakers, and the broader oncology community. As part of Varian Marketing & Communications, you will play a central role in protecting and advancing our leadership narrative in cancer care in alignment with business priorities, in support of our mission of a world without fear of cancer. This role serves as the primary communications partner to Varian Strategy, Healthcare Access, and Clinical Integration, translating business priorities into clear external narrative, executive positioning, and market-facing storytelling. You will translate narrative into action, ensuring our story is consistently and credibly represented across media, executive platforms, and key stakeholder engagements. This includes shaping how our impact is understood across key clinical areas where we are driving meaningful progress today and translating that impact into clear, compelling stories that resonate across audiences. Working in close alignment with Strategy leadership, this includes advancing awareness of radiation therapy, interventional oncology, and theranostics as critical components of modern cancer care. This is a senior individual contributor role requiring a communicator who can operate with autonomy, while working in close alignment with Strategy leadership, influence senior stakeholders, and deliver end-to-end work from narrative development through execution in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in communications, including public relations, media relations, and executive communications in a corporate or agency environment
  • Experience in MedTech, healthcare, or a similarly regulated industry, with strong understanding of compliance considerations
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt voice across executives and audiences
  • Exceptional ability to develop executive-ready materials, including presentations that simplify complex topics and drive clarity, alignment, and action
  • Proven ability to operate independently and drive work end-to-end, from strategy through execution
  • Strong executive presence and ability to advise senior stakeholders
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with competing priorities
  • Demonstrated success navigating complex, matrixed organizations and building strong cross-functional relationships, and influencing without authority
  • Experience using digital and AI-enabled tools to enhance communications, insights, and content development

  • Category and clinical narrative support: Strengthen external storytelling that advances priority clinical areas, aligned with broader narrative and strategic focus, while deepening engagement with industry, policy, and advocacy stakeholders
  • Integrated narrative amplification: Leverage emerging channels including podcasts, influencers, and digital platforms to expand reach and engage priority audiences, in service of amplifying strategic initiatives
  • Content development and execution: Create high-quality content independently, including executive materials, presentations, articles, and digital content, supporting key strategic initiatives, delivering work end-to-end without reliance on agency support
