About The Position

The Director of Strategic Sourcing Manufacturing is a senior procurement and supply chain leader responsible for end-to-end strategy, governance, and performance of the Company’s contract manufacturing and repack operations across North America. This role has a direct and material impact on Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), product quality, supply continuity, and speed-to-market for core and emerging brands. The Director acts as the enterprise subject matter expert for contract manufacturing, leads long-term sourcing strategy, oversees complex negotiations and agreements, and partners closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Legal, Finance, Quality, and Brand teams. The role balances strategic direction with hands-on execution and serves as a critical connector between internal stakeholders and senior leadership of third-party manufacturers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in procurement, manufacturing, or supply chain leadership; food and beverage or CPG experience strongly preferred.
Deep expertise in contract manufacturing, negotiations, and complex commercial agreements.
Proven ability to lead large spend portfolios and deliver measurable cost, service, and risk outcomes.
Strong financial acumen with experience in cost modeling, scenario analysis, and P&L-linked decisions.
Demonstrated success influencing senior leaders and operating effectively in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

Owns procurement strategy and governance for a large, highly visible manufacturing spend portfolio with direct linkage to NAOU P&L.
Sets the strategic direction for contract manufacturing capabilities, network design inputs, and make vs. buy decisions.
Ensures contracts, commercial terms, and operating models support reliability of supply, cost competitiveness, and scalability.
Represents the procurement and supply chain function internally and externally as a senior leader and trusted business partner.
Coaches, develops, and elevates capability across the contract manufacturing procurement team.
Leads complex, multi-variable sourcing decisions involving capital intensity, operational tradeoffs, and long-term network implications.
Develops and advances new sourcing models, commercial structures, and productivity levers across the contract manufacturing ecosystem.
Applies advanced analytics, should-cost models, benchmarking, and scenario planning to inform decisions.
Navigates ambiguity while balancing near-term execution with long-term strategic outcomes.
Lead the contract manufacturing and repackaging procurement strategy across regions, platforms, and product categories.
Serve as the enterprise SME for contract manufacturing agreements, including market economics, supplier financials, and cost drivers.
Negotiate, implement, and manage long-term strategic MSAs and SOWs to ensure optimal cost, service, and supply continuity.
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified contract manufacturers aligned to future business needs.
Partner cross-functionally (Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Legal, Finance, Brands) to integrate sourcing strategies with business requirements.
Lead make vs. buy analysis and provide recommendations supported by financial and risk modeling.
Identify, prioritize, and deliver productivity, cost savings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all relationships and activities align with corporate mandates, responsible sourcing, and risk management standards.
Oversee escalation management related to performance, quality, or supply disruptions.
Prepare and present executive-level analyses, recommendations, and approval materials.
Builds trust-based relationships with senior internal stakeholders and external supplier executives (up to President/CEO level).
Influences across functions to drive alignment, adoption of new approaches, and disciplined execution.
Models strong ownership, accountability, and decision-making under pressure.
Challenges constructively and navigates difficult conversations while preserving partnerships.
Develops talent through coaching, feedback, and exposure to complex negotiations and enterprise initiatives.
