As the Director, Strategic Pricing & Planning (Management Path), you will be responsible for defining and evolving Alcon’s global value-based pricing framework, leading portfolio-level pricing strategies across Surgical and Vision Care franchises, and developing long-range strategic plans that drive revenue growth and profitability. This role leads a team of pricing professionals, including Sr. Managers and other pricing associates and requires close collaboration with senior leadership and cross-functional partners to ensure pricing strategies are aligned with Alcon’s broader strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or High School + 18 years; Associate’s + 14 years; Master’s + 7 years; PhD + 6 years)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • 6 years of demonstrated leadership

Nice To Haves

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing global pricing strategies across multiple geographies and product portfolios.
  • Demonstrated experience in value-based pricing, launch pricing, and lifecycle price management across complex portfolios.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership experience across Commercial (Sales / Marketing), Finance, Market Access / HEOR, and Strategy and Product teams.
  • Experience operating at senior leadership level, influencing strategic decisions and organizational direction.

Responsibilities

  • Define and continuously evolve a global value-based pricing framework incorporating competitive positioning, willingness-to-pay, and reimbursement dynamics.
  • Lead development of portfolio-level pricing strategies across Surgical (SX) and Vision Care (VC).
  • Partner closely with Global Marketing, Market Access, HEOR, Finance, and Commercial teams to align pricing with value, evidence, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Integrate pricing strategy into stage-gate processes and product lifecycle management.
  • Establish global price corridors (floors, thresholds, guardrails) to guide regional execution.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies for the global franchise, creating and executing comprehensive market access strategies through the integration of pricing.
  • Develop long-range objectives and strategic plans for the corporation or major division, scanning the environment for business opportunities and maintaining market surveillance.
  • Prepare acquisition proposals and recommend strategic objectives and alternatives.
