About The Position

This position will serve as a liaison between Central Texas College and potential community, business, and industry partners, working closely with college leadership to identify new opportunities and expand market reach, through planning, relationship building, and strong market knowledge of central Texas area ensuring alignment with CTC’s strategic objectives and financial goals. Position will manage the day-to-day operations of KNCT-FM while identifying and aligning opportunities for furthering business development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in an appropriate technical or business field required.
  • Four years management experience (or comparable in radio broadcast stations, preferably in non-commercial radio stations, organizational partnership development, or business development), six years experience preferred.
  • One year supervisory experience required.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable of FCC Rules and Regulations relating to noncommercial station operations required.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable of CPB policies relating to radio operations required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience building business networks preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in station and online technical expertise preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations of the College’s online radio station and assume responsibility for all services and programming provided by KNCT-FM and its associated online activities.
  • Prepare and provide direction for the station’s annual operating budget; prepare and submit all required FCC and CPB reports; and recommend equipment replacements and acquisitions through budgeting process.
  • Recruit, assign, train and evaluate department managers of the radio station, resolve performance and operational issues.
  • Seek out sources of additional funding/revenue from corporate and major station donors as well as prepare grant applications as needed.
  • Maintain direction for all station on-air fund-raising activities including all locally produced radio programming through strategic alignment, consistent messaging, and coordination of production activities.
  • Providing performance metrics and adjusting content or scheduling as needed.
  • Maintain direction for the stations streaming and on-line activities to include all social media activities associated with the station through set content guidelines, built content calendars, and a defined brand through consistent application.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community stakeholders across the college district to represent and promote the college's programs and services, fostering engagement and supporting enrollment growth.
  • Establish and implement a partnership strategy aligned with the college’s strategic plan and annual priorities while serving as the liaison for businesses and community to connect with the college.
  • Monitor trends in community college setting to adjust strategies and maintain competitive edge with regard to revenue opportunities and student growth.
  • Work closely with the college marketing department to promote campus events, programs, and activities of the college.
  • Maintain relationships with various college departments, faculty and students to further the mission of Central Texas College.
  • Oversee the development, tacking, and management of all contracts for services, leases, and personnel services within KNCT FM ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
