About The Position

The Abacus Insights Growth team is expanding. We’re hiring a Director, Strategic Accounts (DSA) to accelerate revenue growth within our existing strategic customer portfolio by deepening adoption and expanding how customers use our platform and solutions. Reporting to the Vice President, Business Development, you’ll operate as a trusted advisor to senior customer stakeholders—connecting their highest‑priority business needs to tailored, high‑value solutions across the Abacus product portfolio. This role is for individuals energized by complex enterprise selling, consultative problem‑solving, and building long-term executive relationships that translate into measurable outcomes.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of sales experience, with a strong track record in account growth / expansion within existing enterprise customers.
  • 5+ years working with or for healthcare payers, with the credibility to engage senior stakeholders and navigate complex buying environments.
  • A strong grasp of cloud and modern data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake) and comfort positioning data-enabled products to business and technical audiences.
  • Extensive customer-facing experience in senior roles, including the ability to effectively communicate and influence C-level executives and various levels of technical and non-technical depth within client teams.
  • Executive presence, sharp discovery skills, and the ability to translate customer needs into tailored solutions that drive measurable impact.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling into both technology and payer environments (e.g., you’ve been inside a payer and/or sold to them from a vendor).
  • Consulting experience in the healthcare vertical.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and expand a portfolio of existing health insurance customers by deeply understanding their priorities and mapping them to high-impact solutions across Abacus’s product suite.
  • Lead the full sales cycle from discovery to close—owning everything from initial outreach and executive presentations to RFIs, multi-day workshops, RFPs, negotiations, and deal signing.
  • Consistently deliver against a seven-figure quota across Abacus Insights’ most strategic payer customers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Delivery, and Finance to craft compelling proposals, unlock expansion, and drive strong retention.
  • Bring a consultative, problem-solving approach—helping customers connect their challenges to clear value, building momentum from first conversation through signed growth initiatives.
