About The Position

The Director of Special Events reports to the Executive Director of Donor Relations. The Director plans, executes, manages and coordinates all special events for Institutional Advancement. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has a unique combination of education, research, and clinical programs that encourages and supports teamwork and diversity. It leads to better health outcomes and wiser allocation of resources, and greater patient and family satisfaction. The core concepts of patient and family centered care consist of Dignity & Respect, Information Sharing, Participation, and Collaboration.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in communications, Business, Human Resources or a related field
Six (6) years of project management experience
3 years of special events, advancement, communications, marketing, or related experience
Three (3) year of supervisory experience
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
