As the Director, Solution Area Specialist Manager, you will lead a team of highly skilled Solution Area Specialists responsible for driving Microsoft Cloud and AI growth across key Retail & Consumer Goods customers. In this role, you will create and execute strategic go-to-market plans, build trusted executive relationships, and lead a high-performing team focused on delivering customer value through AI, Data, Security, Business Applications, and Azure solutions. You will partner closely with Customer Success, Solution Engineering, Partner, Marketing, and Engineering organizations to drive business growth and customer transformation. This opportunity provides the ability to shape strategy, influence senior customer stakeholders, develop future leaders, and drive significant impact across one of Microsoft's most strategic industry segments. Responsibilities align with the Microsoft Solution Area Specialist Manager leadership framework.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Security, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology-related sales or account management OR equivalent experience.
  • Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States that does not now or in the future require employer sponsorship.

  • Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team: Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop a diverse team of Solution Area Specialists. Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, collaboration, and continuous learning. Drive talent development through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and skill growth. Inspire teams to achieve ambitious business outcomes while living Microsoft's culture and values.
  • Drive Business Growth and AI Transformation: Lead execution of solution area strategy across Retail & Consumer Goods accounts to accelerate Microsoft Cloud and AI adoption. Develop and execute go-to-market plans that drive revenue growth, customer acquisition, consumption, and solution deployment. Identify new growth opportunities and expand Microsoft's footprint across strategic customers. Position Microsoft as the trusted partner for AI-powered business transformation.
  • Executive Engagement and Industry Leadership: Build and maintain trusted relationships with C-suite executives, line-of-business leaders, and technology decision makers. Lead executive briefings, strategic business discussions, and transformation workshops. Serve as a thought leader for AI, cloud innovation, and industry transformation within Retail & Consumer Goods. Represent Microsoft at customer events, industry forums, and executive engagements.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership and Orchestration: Drive alignment and execution across Sales, Customer Success, Solution Engineering, Partner, Services, and Engineering organizations. Lead complex deal orchestration and strategic opportunity planning. Partner with engineering teams to share customer insights and influence future innovation. Ensure coordinated execution across all customer-facing teams to maximize business impact.
  • Sales Excellence and Operational Discipline: Drive forecast accuracy, pipeline health, business planning, and execution rigor. Establish performance metrics and accountability models to ensure predictable results. Leverage data-driven insights to optimize business performance and customer outcomes. Ensure operational excellence across all aspects of the business.
