About The Position

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Director, Software Engineer in Alpharetta, GA to be responsible for the hands-on software design and development of core Java applications as part of the Deposits Agile Squad/Fleet. This role involves modernizing Deposit related functionalities by transitioning from mainframe systems to cloud-based solutions, significantly reducing reliance on legacy infrastructure. The goal is to improve platform stability and operational efficiency by building user-friendly interfaces and automation tools to minimize manual intervention in production environments. The engineer will ensure developed software code is in alignment with system architecture and integration design standards, analyze user requirements, envision system features and functionality, and produce proof of concept in new areas of software development. Responsibilities also include participating in software design discussions, contributing to the architecture process, investigating production issues, providing technical support for debugging web applications and databases, assisting production systems, and supporting continuous improvement of automated systems. The role encompasses participation in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation). Telecommuting is permitted up to two (2) days per week.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field of study.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as a Software Engineer, Java Scala Developer, Application Developer, Programmer Analyst, or a closely related occupation.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Java.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Core Java.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Spring Framework: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.
  • Two (2) years of experience with JPA.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Liquibase.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Maven.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Postman.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Junit.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Mockito.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Splunk.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Jira, Atlassian tools.
  • One (1) year of experience in AWS ElastiCache: Redis.
  • One (1) year of experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS): Lambda, SNS, IAM, ECS, EC2.
  • One (1) year of experience in Gradle.
  • One (1) year of experience in Cucumber.
  • One (1) year of experience in 7ps Testing Methodology.
  • One (1) year of experience in CloudWatch.
  • One (1) year of experience in Hibernate.
  • One (1) year of experience in MySQL.
  • One (1) year of experience in DB2.

Responsibilities
