Director, Software Development - Banking Solutions
About The Position
The RBC Wealth Management IT team is seeking an IT leader with experience in the banking sector to shape our product portfolio for years to come. RBC Wealth Management is expanding our product offerings and seeking a technology leader to deliver an outstanding experience with these banking products. In this role you will be responsible for internal technology development, vendor partnerships, and managing successful implementation of deposit and banking solutions. The role will manage a team of developers, formulate strategy with business partners, and drive execution activities to accomplish objectives according to budget and schedule expectations.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in an IT field such as computer science or management information systems, or equivalent work experience in an IT field
- 8 – 10 years of IT management experience, preferably in the financial services sector
- A strong understanding of technology and financial services industry – specifically looking for experience with deposits and lending processes.
- Experience working with and managing software and service providers in the banking industry.
- Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation of multiple concurrent initiatives of varying complexity in a time efficient manner.
- Monitor and control activities according to plan.
- Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks. Analyze, mitigate and escalate where appropriate.
- Manage a team of IT resources providing day-to-day work direction, coaching and professional development, and performance management.
- Collaborate and contribute to cross-functional enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables.
- Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners.
- Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.
- Contribute to Wealth Management IT leadership team activities as required.
