About The Position

SMBC is seeking a Director, Software Delivery Architecture to lead the strategy, architecture, governance, and ongoing evolution of enterprise software delivery capabilities. The role defines and governs the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), DevSecOps practices, developer platforms, engineering tools, and AI-enabled software delivery capabilities. The Director helps define enterprise platform standards, reference architectures, implementation patterns, engineering roadmaps, and technology strategies that enable secure, scalable, resilient, and efficient software delivery. The role drives engineering transformation to improve software quality, developer productivity, operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and business outcomes. A central focus is identifying and implementing AI opportunities across the software delivery lifecycle to improve quality, reduce manual effort, accelerate delivery, and strengthen engineering governance. The successful candidate will help shape software engineering at SMBC by bringing together modern architecture practices, platform engineering, AI-enabled development capabilities, and enterprise governance. SMBC describes its workforce model as hybrid: employees may work from home and from an SMBC office, and are required to live within a reasonable commuting distance of their office. The specific hybrid schedule is discussed during interviews; hybrid work may not be permitted for certain roles.
