About The Position

The Icahn Genomics Institute and the Mount Sinai Colton Center for Autoimmunity seek a Scientific Director of Communications and Strategic Advancement to lead communications, visibility, and strategic advancement across Mount Sinai initiatives spanning genomics, autoimmunity, cancer, and immunotherapy. The role communicates the work of programs that bring together genomics, immunology, cancer biology, data science, human disease biology, translational research, clinical partnerships, and therapeutic innovation to advance precision approaches to immune-mediated, malignant, and complex human disease. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, exceptional writer, and proactive builder who can translate complex biomedical research into compelling narratives for academic, philanthropic, media, policy, industry, patient, and public audiences. The Director develops and executes communications strategies, identifies opportunities for thought leadership, leads or contributes to grants and strategic proposals, creates presentation and advancement materials, and partners with Development on donor communications. The role also builds systems for capturing program achievements and impact so that faculty, development officers, and other stakeholders can communicate program value consistently. Success is measured by increased visibility and clear public narratives; high-quality grants, proposals, presentations, and strategic materials; expanded media and thought leadership presence; stronger donor and partner engagement; and durable infrastructure for communicating scientific and clinical impact.
